I just received my moog prodigy from Ebay. Super psyched of course, since it was in great cosmetic condition, but unfortunately it’s just unplayable. I’ve attached a youtube movie for you guys to see the problem.
Whenever I tap the panel, or when it gets transported (so any shock to the synth) makes it go out of tune. It gets very jumpy. It’s impossible to play it like this. I’ve opened it up and thought it was maybe the connector from the keyboard to the circuit board. When I reconnected it and made sure it was securely fastened it helped for a while, but then the problem returned. It happens on both oscillators by the way.
Anyone had this before or has any idea what this is? I’m thinking of returning the unit, since I don’t know what else is wrong, but it came from Russia … So that’s a hassle. Hope you guys can help. Thanks so much in advance.
