Moog partnering with Universal Audio on new UAD2 platform?

look at this madness

if only they would put out a hard ware version

THat THar is awesome!

I will have it. :imp:

You could use a Voyager? (well, no resonant HP mode, but still.)

yeah i guess something like that wouldnt be much cheaper than the RME

It should be substantially cheaper than the RME for 3 reasons

  1. Not a lot of pots/switches

  2. not alot of circuitry

  3. I don’t think they woudl have to augment any of their tooling to create such a thing.

THe question is do they want to do that though? THey already have 3 filter effects.

DO you guys think that it would be necessary for it to be as long as both the CP and the VX boxes? (19 inches rackable) It looksl ike it possibly fit in 1 Moogerstyle stompbox.

I don’t know, im talkig out of the side of my mouth…I don’t know crap about what it would take. I don’t think it would be 2,000 dollars though.

Eric

How much are they charging for the plug-in?

too bad Moog doesnt do a native VST/RTAS version :frowning:

Late to the game on this one. This seems very cool.
And now my dumb ass question of the day.

Do I need to buy the whole UA software package and then buy the Moogware? This would be cool if it would run on its own. Also is it the same with the Protools Moogware? I’d buy both in a heartbeat if I could get these software packages to run as a stand alone bit of kit. Add some sort of cheap
usb/ firewire interface and I’m dancing. I don’t want to do a whole Protools type rig.

Dean

you’ll need one of their UAD cards to run the software, but the plug itself isn’t too bad, 200 bucks.

I’m saving up for one of their laptop solo cards, UAD plugs are bar-none the best VSTs I’ve ever heard, and their current selection is amazing, the Moog included.

Now, if only Moog would make me a REAL multimode filter… 3 rack spaces (2 cp251 sized).. it’d be pretty much the end all be all for me.

Also, I still really want a Moog EQ in fooger form, it’d be seriously nice for just running stuff through, even on little-to-no EQ settings.

Some of us have had a Moog filter for years, either using the audio in on Minimax or the dedicated Interpole (based on the Minimax filter). Of course because it doesn’t have the sexy Moog/Roland/Neve whatever logo on it Scope doesn’t sell as well.
