I like. Gotta pay respect to anyone that can play a Voyager live in a setting like that.

A mix of surf music and some hint of Ray Manzarek during your solo (that’s a compliment).

Is that a regular gig or do you play at a variety of places. Shoot me a link to your guys(es) schedule and I’ll drop in next time I’m in NC. Based on the fact that that looks like the Ocean : ) I’ll have to guess you are on the East end of the state.

What a great venue! The sea spray can’t be good on the Voyager, tho. :open_mouth:

A bit of Del Shannon’s Runaway?

I don’t comment much on the forum, but this performance deserves props. Man, great job! I agree with Voltor… I fear for the synth in such a setting. Still, you only live once, and if it ever malfunctions (knock on the wooden panels) you can always take a trip out to Asheville and have it fixed. Great job, awesome sound design work (that was the perfect patch for that song) and cool shirts!

Keep it up and I hope to see your band start its world tour soon!

Yeah!! Cool venue again! I remember you playing in front of a beach some months back, right?

Good performance, good music. Bravo!

Is that a Ibanez/Maxon AD9 you use?

gracias comrades! I always wipe her down after these shows- The Moog out there doesn’t worry me half as much as when I’m on the upright bass out there! (different band)
stiiiiiiiiiive, how on earth did you discern my delay to be an an Ibanez!!?

Awesome venue, AWESOME sound. Reminds me a lot of MGMT’s “Congratulations” record. I love that lead farfisa-esque patch you are using. Also, one other thing I want to mention- Those shirts are RADICAL, dude!

Yes, great Job! That Ol’ School must have been blasting into those SRM450 ! And was that your lovely wife/singer looking contemplatively at the band, in front of you ? And yes, those shirts are rad !

yep that’s her- this was the beginning of a 3 hour set, so the crowd was pretty tame (sober) at this point- later when dancing commenced, the pier got unnervingly shaky! and we only ran vocals and kick through the 450s- the Moog was going through a 1x12 Fender Deluxe, with old tubes!

Very cool spot indeed. What is that vocal mic? It looks like a big EV Cardax 950.

And the notes on the video mention a “Cassette” release. Can you elaborate on this?

Shape is Ibanezesque.
Color claims it’s the delay.
I first looked for an overdrive because of the sound, then I heard the delay.

I’m short sighted however. Haha.

it’s actually just a Nady PCM200- cheap, but it’s fine for live vocals, and this one has survived over 10 years worth of shows!
and the cassette thing, a guy in the area has started a cassette label- they come with a digital download, so the actual cassette is more of a novelty- here’s his site: http://garagepunk.ning.com/profile/DoctorGoneRecords

Cool! Cassettes are retro. That is a cool idea.

filtered- I’m listening to “In Person!” all the way through. This is an AWESOME record, my friend! I’m going to share this around Facebook. Really sweet stuff you guys are doing here.

thanks Kenneth! this band’s fun for me because the other guys do all the work! I just show up with the Moog and a tamborine! we got a nice write up on that recording recently here http://wae.blogs.starnewsonline.com/26768/album-review-the-carvers/
cheers!
