It’s the UK Minimoog reissued by Alex Winter about ten years ago.
Alex Winter is also a source of trouble, for he refuses to reliquish the moog music trademarks he holds in the UK (whose company folded years ago) and has forced Moog Music to rebrand the Voyagers (pc boards, badge, labels, even the manual) for the UK market.
And should be ‘disposed of’…
Thx alot for all these infos!!
yeah where is alex winter? anyone got his address? konw of his whereabouts? ive got a lovely present for him. ![]()
I thought Alex Winter was the actor from Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure…
I’m going to try the “two phone calls” technique on him.
Basically, my lifelong friends tell the offending person to stop, and if they don’t…

Actually, the “winter-Moog” (my nickname for it) is an interesting machine.
I don´t know how many were built, but rumour has it, that only three or just a little bit more have been built. The switches are more ARP Pro Soloist like and it has an octave switch and PWM for both oscillators, but - funny enough - no sync (but it has MIDI).
If you put it aside of a real Mini it looks a bit bigger and the proportions don´t seem to fit. The wood-dimensions are not right (too big) and the wood itself is not as refined as a normal Mini - let alone the wood of a Voyager.
I like the sound, it is not bad. When chatting with Bob about the Wales-Mini, he just replied: “And it really works ?”
