Hi all Moog users.
I have recently ordered Moog Muse and already having fun for few days.
It sounds great but I hear strange clipping when modulating “Pan Spread” in the VCA section. It happens on some original patches as well. It’s a hight frequency clipping. It happens even when high frequency is all filtered out, I assume because “Pan Spread” is after the filters in signal chain. It’s really annoying and I am thinking about returning my Muse back to shop because of this reason.
I am wondering if this is an issue that can be fixed by firmware update or is this mechanical problem. I am already on latest firmware v1.2 and nothing has improved. I can hear it on headphones directly connected to Moog as well as via Macbook and audio interface.
It can be easily recreates by:
- Start new initial path
- Turn down low pass filter all the way down to remove all frequencies
- Assign LFO 1 or LFO 2 to the “Pan Spread” and adjust LFO amplitude to hear it better. Clipping speed changes with amplitude change. At this stage I can only hear clipping because oscillators are filtered out.
It’s really annoying. Can anyone help pls. I don’t want to return my device but looks like it has failures.
