Moog Modular IP video demo

Here is a little video demo of an old 1969 RA Moog modular system that I restored.

Seems to be a lot of opinions of the durability and drift of those old 901 oscillators. So I thought a little demo would be a nice way to show a properly maintained low milage one. (Looks like it’s new!) Mostly just going through some of the functions on a basic Minimoog type patch. Using a Voyager PE through a MIDI to CV to control the modular. But this one keeps tune very well and tracks for more than 5 octaves. Not very musical though, just messing around with it.

For a more musical use of that same Moog, here is a small MP3 about 9 megs with a giant Moog bass as the main theme. Just playing some Mellotron samples on a Emu soundcard via Soundfonts over top, full one sample per key and I think a unique sample set. Also has a Simmons SDS1000 for the drum part.

Drenched in too much reverb and echo. Would love to hear it dry.

I hope before I die I get to at least TOUCH one of these! Sounds great, and the Mellotron song is ready to be used in a soundtrack!

Exactly what I think, too. Although it’s still nice to see in action.

 Very nice, thanks for sharing that !
