who here owns one?
I love mine, it has simplicity but with a great phat sound. I don’t think I’ll ever need any other kind of moog except for maybe a prodigy.
Yeah- this thing can hang with the real moogs- I need an original manual, I’d also like to mod the input to the filter- bob even signed it- slickness
Bought mine a couple of years ago from the original owner - not a scratch on it (even came with a flight case!). Tracked down an original manual and managed to get a copy of a another, different manual. Kinda cool to see the suggested settings.
I actually own 2 of em, one works and one is pretty beat up…technically speaking. So i bought new sliders for it and im gonna get it repaired and sell it…any takers??
Yeah, i’ve had my MG-1 for a several months…
so far i’ve done this:
All new sliders
originally half the keys didn’t work so I got the service manual and tested the frequency divider chips (MM5*) to find one was broke so I replaced it and voila! they worked again
*I did the Input to filter mod from the synhouse website
*took out those ugly RCA jacks and put nice 1/4 ones in
*added a control pot for the input mod to vary input signal (still perfecting that)
Overall its greatly improved from the original mg-1 I purchased
I’m workin on a webite for it, but have been procrastinating finishing…
tell me if ya think it’s sexxxy!
oh yeah, i forgot…
If any of you are planning on doing that Input mod, listen up:
You gotta hold down a key for anything to flow through the filter… I’m trying to figure out how I can bypass the switching mechanism of the keys… but i’m thinking that maybe it’s much more of an in-depth proccess than I’d like to believe…
anyone else done this mod?
I think the Rogue has a bypass switch. I think the schemos are online too.
Save yourself the effort use a piece of tape to hold the key down. That’s what I used to do ![]()
where would you think I could find these “schemos” ??
I been lookin over my service manual and it looks like if I find a 6 volt source and hook it up (with a switch) to U1013B I can sort of create a permanent sustain!..
hmmm… anyone else tried this?
wait… I’m a retard…
I completely forgot i have the trigger interface port…
I just shorted that and it’s done!
duhhhhh
i plan on using the headphones jack as an input into my amp…but im gonna replace it with a new one, im also gonna clean mine out and lose the black gunk…anoyone know where i can get a replacement dust mat??
Hi,
I’m new to the forum. I too have a MG-1… and love it.
Anyone here know how to make my MG-1 quieter? While it’s powered up and plugged into in amp(at a reasonably loud volume), i can hear the filter and almost a monotone note humming very lightly.
I thought I might just have the master volume knob turned down too soft, but even up all the way, it’s still there. I use the headphone jacks as my out. Would this be more quiet if i used the RCA’s?
Your thoughts/tricks?
Also, after reading this thread, i’m definately gonna have those RCA’s replaced with 1/4’s
