I’m thinking of buying a Minitaur for bass and an MG-1 for leads, and since I’ll need a keyboard to play the Minitaur I was wondering if they can be connected by CV, and then just use the MG-1’s keyboard to play sounds from the Minitaur?
MG-1 and Minitaur are both CV “IN” only, unfortunately, and the MG-1 is not MIDI-equipped unless it has an after-market mod.
However -
The Doepfer “Dark Link” is a stand-alone MIDI-to-CV converter that can provide the required CV pitch control for the MG-1, and even includes a gate output that can be reconfigured (via onboard jumpers) to provide the required S-Trigger gate input for the legacy Moog gear.
Still waiting to try the combo out in the mini studio ~ gear is scattered in two different locations right now!!
