MOOG LIBERATION restoration & questions.

Hello.
I have just buy today an MOOG Liberation and I have for a start a few questions.

  1. The synth is in good shape but the black cabinet need to be restored (sanded and painted). ¿Any advice ? ¿Its all the cabinet in wood?
  2. I have other MOOG analog synths (Minimoog, Multimoog and DVCO ). ¿ Can I connect one these synths to the liberation Rack and control the minimoog for example from the liberation keyboard ? ¿ The same with the DVCO ? (it will be wonderfull to get 2 more oscillators form the Moog DVCO rack in the Liberation = 4 oscillators!!!).
3)Any advice & interesting mod or upgrade to perform in this synth before the restoration?
4)¿has some one for sale the original manuals ? if not ¿where can I locate them in the net?
    Thank you in advance

New to the forum. Just purchased my first Moog, a fully functional Liberation. It’s fully functional, with strap, case, and power supply, but in rough aesthetic condition. After many years, I’ll tag onto your first question: is it better to keep the old beat up wood cabinet or re-do: sand, fill, paint? Just looking for opinions, particularly on value.

Looking for anybody that owns a Liberation!!! I had to cut the chassis in half in 1 sectionto repair a poorly performed former repair. In putting it back together, I’ll be sure it’s square in all planes. UNFORTUNATELY, I do not own the back plate (cover) that would be extremely helpful in aligning for repair. I’ve called a number of places…none available anywhere… very sad. That’s the only piece I need to make it complete. I’ll eventually have to craft my own. In any case, as seen in the photo, the non-cut end measures ~8 3/32" across towards the far end (I’m guessing the back cover probably measures 8-1/8" to fit?). When I move to the nearer end, toward the handle end of the instrument, the measurement is larger, ~8 7/32". I’m hoping a Moog “friend” with a Liberation will grab their tape measure and confirm that indeed, the cover is either square or not square. In other words, are both the near and far ends the same measurement (front and back edges parallel to each other) or is the back cover not exactly a rectangle? Really appreciate the help in advance as I put this beauty back in working order.
