I was reading the article “Roger Manning Jr.'s New Supertoy…” on this sight. I noticed it said, “…The Moog Cookbook released two albums of covers recorded entirely with Moog keyboards…”!!! This is not true and should be changed! HERE is a SHORT list of SOME of the keyboards they used. I don’t expect this sight to talk about products from other companies, even if none of the products mentioned are even currently in production. But there shouldn’t be an implication that they used Moog products EXCLUSIVELY.
Any moderators here?
Yeah!!! What about this…We want a recount, and no more LIES from Moog. DO NOT INSULT OUT INTELLIGENCE ![]()
Wow - nobody’s trying to lie or insult intelligence here, just a fact check error. The article has been reworded.
Peace.
Jeeez! Some people need to REEELAX.
Anyone who knows anything about Moog Cookbook know that they use a multitude of synthesizer brands… and if you didn’t know anything about them, you probably wouldn’t be that interested in what they used anyway… and if you WERE, it wouldn’t be long before you discovered the (previous) error in that article. What’s the big deal? It’s not like there is some vast conspiracy on the part of Moog Music to MISLEAD THE GENERAL PUBLIC into thinking Moog Cookboog is EXCLUSIVELY MOOG. The animosity in here would be curious if it wasn’t so baffling. : )
BrianK is a member of this forum and I imagine he will chime in once all the nonsence replies/posts have been removed by a moderator.
Is this really an issue ? Don’t talk smack bout my homies, they did mainly use Moogs… Lets find employment or at least something other than bringing up points that have already been addressed…
I’m tired of everyone expecting moderators to take off every post they have a problem with. Forums aren’t for the sake of agreement. If you find something you have a problem with… Say so, don’t just pull that “my daddy’s gonna beat you up” garbage. Grow up. The only thing that should be moderated is advertisements.

I guess you missed the garbage that filled this forum yesterday that the mods got rid of today - that was what I was talking about, that guy (s) hit most posts with utter nonsence, porn and racist remarks.
Oh. Yeah, I guess I got confused. Oh well. No harm done.

I think that the name, Moog Cookbook may merely be a symbolism for synthesized music. If they’d named themselves ARP Cookbook, Roland Cookbook, Korg Cookbook, or Sequential Cookbook, the symbolism would be more lost on most of the listening public. They chose a name that would be more easily identifiable, because of people like Wendy Carlos, Keith Emerson and Rick Wakeman. It’s not about sticking strictly to one brand of synthesizers / keyboards.
Besides, some of their work is with drum machines, to the best of my knowledge. Moog Music never got to mass market anything of that nature, did they?
Just another one of my thoughts.
i always thought it was reference to the cookbook by shirleigh moog titled “moog musical eatery” “a cookbook for carefree entertaining” i saw one on ebay 5 years ago and thought it was funny but i hadn’t heard of moog cookbook’s music…or maybe i am wrong.

Your are not wrong. Shirleigh Moog (Bob’s first wife) did write a cookbook. The band took its name from that book.
