mono tribe and Ring mod

Hooked the output of a Korg monotribe into the carrier of a MF 102 today , at first the idea had been to run my minituar through the audio input and use the monotribe as a C.V. input. Then I noticed the carrier modulation of the monotribe alone sounded better than anything I could get out of the Minitaur’s audio in.

So I just started tweaking knob’s on the monotribe and 102.
Drum’s on low to high tempo I hit some spot’s where it sounded like I was driving and entire modular Stack.
Some sounds were incredibly round and rich and their were bird like tweet’s to ocean waves crashing to to clangorous Gong’s to completely wild vowel sounding fx it was amazing to say the least.

Especially the sound of that Moog oscillator driving rich and round not Ring modish harsh at all.

All this with one patch cord to the carrier in and tweaking the filter’s and lfo’s and wave shapes on a monotribe, it seemed every switch I threw created a brand new sounding syn.

Wore myself out on this one perhap’s tomorow I’ll run it into my Freq box and then maybe the delay our murf
then maybe back into the minitaur with modulated filter’s and then maybe directly into my left nostril…

The fun go’s on and on

Audio or it did not happen

are you then running a patch cable from carrier out to audio in?

I don’t get any audio just running monotribe into the carrier in without then patching.

Hey, that’s really cool man. I’m gonna try this when I get home.

I had to run the carrier out into the input as that start’s the weirdness ball rolling I also ran the
Ringmod’s lfo out back into the freq input

Mono tribe go’s to carrier in, carrier out go’s to the input, lfo out go’s to the freq in and lastly the regular out go’s to the mixer, I used a send to mix in some Mf 104m delay

Can’t remember how I got that smooth round tone but that’s fiddling

lfo’s shape and freq on the monotribe have a big effect you can hit certain area’s with the resonance and filter some can be quit touchy

It is also best to turn the mix knob on the Ring mod all the way up

And if you turn the knob’s in the right place here’s what it sound’s like

Basically playing the Ringmod as a synth I’m guess

Sounds cool
