I am very new when it comes to synthesizers, so I apologize if any of these questions are silly..
I’ve just gotten my hands on a modified Source with MIDI capabilities. Nearly all of the pre-set patches have been erased, so I need to create my own samples, but I know nothing about this. Can anyone help me out with what I need and how I would go about doing this?
If I understand you, you’d like to recreate the original factory patches?
I’m assuming you don’t have the user manual. It’s available online in numerous places, and it shows the factory patches as well as other settings. That’s probably the best place to start.
Read a manual, read a book, turn some knobs and learn the terminology. You don’t create a sample with your Source until you write a patch worth sampling and then digitally record it into another device for playback.
I would like to at least be able to re-create the factory patches… only problem is, patches 3-16 are not programmed at all. I guess the previous owner must have erased them? How would I go about re-creating the original patches when they are empty?
I guess what I’m actually asking is how can I the Source for samples - how would I go about programming sounds into the keyboard. I know I would need Logic or Protools or something along those lines, but I really don’t know anything else besides that. Yes, I am very very very new to this..
