Model D and Sub 37 midi problem

I’ve got a technical question if anyone can help.

I am using my Model D to send Midi to my sub 37. When I hit any note on the Model D the Sub 37 plays a note -2 semitones from the note played on the Model D… Anyone know what might be causing this? I do have the latest firmware on the Model D.

I’m guessing you don’t have another midi keyboard to verify it’s the Model D sending the wrong note (as opposed to something on the Sub37 end).

Maybe your Model D midi transpose function got set inadvertently.

From the Model D user manual:
MIDI OUT TRANSPOSE
Hold B3 and press any key in the octave above or below C2 while turning on the power to transpose the MIDI OUT note data by +/- 12 semitones.

Yeah, sounds like maybe the power up transpose procedure needs a bit of fine tuning

Great, glad to hear the problem seemed to have worked itself out and you’re enjoying the Model D/Sub 37 combo. I believe the problem may have been caused by the note that was being held down while powering on the Model D. I agree, this is not made very clear in the manual and it took us a minute to figure out the MIDI transposition command as well. The MIDI transposition is split over two octaves, + or – 12 semitones with C2 being the middle note. This means that if you held down the note A2 while powering on the Model D you would only be transposing the MIDI note value down by 2 semitones and not by 2 octaves. As for only getting one note out of the Sub 37 no matter what note is played on the Model D, this was likely due to the MIDI transposition selection. Has the problem resurfaced since?

The MIDI transposition is split over two octaves, + or – 12 semitones with C2 being the middle note. This means that if you held down the note A2 while powering on the Model D you would only be transposing the MIDI note value down by 2 semitones and not by 2 octaves.

Wait what? Doesn’t he mean 3 semitones? Who said this… I want names! Heads will roll !!!
