I just bought my first Moog (Little Phatty Stage II) and am trying to learn how to program the mod wheel to control what it does in my own custom presets. However, I am confused about what “source” and “destination” mean and how they affect what the mod wheel does. Can someone clarify these terms?
Source is the modulator, destination is the carrier. So for example an LFO or noise would be the source and pitch or filter cutoff or volume would be destination. The wheel is basically a level control for the source. The higher or more open the wheel, the more the destination is modulated.
Actually you should read the micromoog manual which is easily found on google. If you really want to learn you should start there, it is a nice beginners guide to CV and analog synthesis.
Exactly: the modwheel is the level of actual modualtion between zero and the AMOUNT parameter value -which is, properly speaking, more a MAX AMOUNT setting.

Thanks, the description of modulation in the micromoog manual is definitely more comprehensive than what I found in the LP manual.
