Mod wheel to control volume not working

I’m trying to route The On/Mod2 → PGM (Osc 1 Level) and turning down the oscil volume all the way (and turning amount all the way up). I’ve tried using a Shaping offset and that doesn’t do the trick.

I’d like to basically be able to (for a theremin like sound that I have on the touch screen) be able to control the volume with my left hand 100% smoothly, but overall this would be a good routing.

Seems that it’s built in, but not working. I don’t have a CP/VX setup yet. Just the signature ed. Help?

Try Pot Mapping instead. Map as follows:

Source: Mod Wheel
Destination: Master Volume
Direction: Normal
Amount: 100%

This will give you 100% control over the volume using the Mod Wheel.

I created a Voyager Theremin patch a while back that uses this approach and it works great. You still play the keyboard to select the notes (so it’s always in tune), but the Glide is on so it sweeps up and down in pitch, and the vibrato intensifies when the Mod Wheel is moved (another Pot Mapping)

You can find my patch here:

Awesome. I’ll do that.

However, i’m more trying to figure out why this routing doesn’t work. My logic tells me it should and I’m normally pretty good at figuring such out
