MOD wheel problems - LP SE I w/ Vermona Perfourmer

I have problems with the filter cutoff control of the performer using LP’s mod wheel.

Always when I switch to another octave w/ LP’s oct/keys the modulation of filter of the per4mer does not respond anymore (via LP’s mod wheel).

I was investigating on this and the reason is:

pressing a oct/key on LP sends CC#89 with a <=63 value (except the highest oct/key its sends the value 64)

the per4mer MOD. wheel information (for filter cutoff of per4mer’s 2nd synth) is controlled by:

…CC#89 Synth2 MOD. WHEEL 0 … 63 – OFF; 64 … 127 – ON…

Is there any chance to change this CC# within the LP’s OS?

I haven’t found anything which could helps in the manual and the per4mer has no OS to change it there :frowning:.

thanks for your help!

cool…somebody else has an LP and Perforumer. i havent tried using the phatty as a controller for the perfourmer yet, just another mid ikeyboard. i have mostly been sequencing using Numerology controlling the LP, vermona perfoumer, drm1 and an mpc.

let me know if you find a workaround, i see connecting the two someday.

Hello,

Yes we could move this control to a different CC number, but I would prefer not to. Even if we move it, this does not solve the fundamental problem that the LP is sending CC messages which do not apply to the perfourmer.

Better would be a LP local-off mode which allows sending MIDI from keys and wheels but not MIDI from panel buttons & knobs. Would this work for your playing style, or are you using the panel controls to send other CCs (not just mod wheel and keys) to the PerFourmer?

Alternatively you could use a MIDI filter to filter out unwanted CCs; this can take the form of an external hardware device, or computer software such as Midi-Ox for PC.

If we should move the CC assignment for the octave up/down buttons, the available other CCs are numbers 90, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95. Are there any conflicts with the perfourmer in this range?

Dear Amos thank you - yes this would be the best!

(Just to let you know, but I’m sure you know, with the former OS it worked - the oct down/up keys were sending a CC for something like a vibrato rate or so… )
