Mod 1 Pitch amount

Hello!

I noticed in the INIT patch that when i put the mod wheel all way up that the pitch is affected even without touching the pitch amount knob. when i twist the knob on the right and bringing it back to center the pitch is affected but when i twist it to the left and bringiing back to center it’s fine. I wonder if it’s specific to my unit of if it’s general. I believe it wasn’t like that with the inital firmware

thank you!

The Init Preset default settings are now changed so you get some modulation when rising the mod wheel, so it seems correct.

ok cool for the modwheel but like i said it seems like the pitch amount knob (mod 1) is not centered properly.

This is actually by design, it’s a bit raised off center.

really? ok thanks

i’m curious. ca you explain me why?

The Init Preset has the Mod 1 bus set up to provide vibrato, using a triangle LFO and a little bit of Pitch Amount. The mod wheel fades in this modulation.

So, that’s what you’re seeing. This is a change from the old Init Preset, where the saved settings were that the Mod Amounts were all set to zero.

There’s been something of a tradition at Moog where the init settings of all our synths (Voyager and Little Phatty anyway) had some 70’s style pitch vibrato on the mod wheel… a lot of people include that modulation in their presets. So, it seemed like a natural change to make here. Sorry if it caught you off-guard… but it’s not a bug, it was an intentional change.

(that being said, it still might be best if an alt-click to the Mod 1 Pitch Amt knob should set it to center.)

thank you for the answer Amos

i gotta admit tho that it’s a bit annoying but i can live with that hehe

Hi,

Had the same problem.
Maybe you can calibrate your pots.
Contact the Moog support for calibrate files.
Maybe this will help you.

regards Luloop.

thanks for the answer Luloop. i sent an email to Moog and i also sent you a pm hehe
