I finally got a proper insert cable to run my foogers in the mixer loop and I realized something that might be right but I’m not sure. It seems like there is a constant output from the mixer. Thats fine for the most part because there is no sound until a key is depressed but that means the envelope on the MF-101 stays open and isn’t triggered by hitting a key. That auto-wah effect isn’t available. is this normal? If so is there a clever workaround or is that just the way the loop is?
The Mixer Out loop is pre-VCA. You’re getting the mixed signal right after the VCOs and the sound is constant, no VCA to shut it off.
If you want the auto-wah function of the MF-101, use it on the audio output not the mixer loop.
Thanks MC! So has anyone found good use of the MF-101 in the mixer out loop? It seems like it’s redundant in the loop unless you wanted 2-pole filtering.
You would very much benefot from a CP 251 with the Foogers you have. You could send a Sample and Hold to the 101 with a lot of resonance and then send a triangle wave LFO to the Voyagers filters for a morphing S&H filter. It sounds really neat.
If you have any kinf of filter modulation with your 101, it ads another dimension to it it you have a second filter after that with a slower modulation. Its a really neat effect that I stumbeled upon with my Mirco running into the Voyager. It makes for dramatic fade ins/outs
Nice I’ve got a CP-251 on order right now! So if you are using the 101 in the loop regularly do you ever miss the auto-wah effect? Can a similar effect be had with the Voyager envelopes?
