I am using Cubase 7.5. it seems as though the editor will only show up as a fx plug in and not a vsti. I run the minitaur as an external instrument and then insert the minitaur editor as a fx plugin on that track. Hope this helps
Hi!
I probably have the same problem in Ableton though. Standalone editor sees the Minitaur, but in Ableton the VSTi module doesn’t. It said “Hardware disconnected”. Reloaded the new firmware few times and it kinda works now, but it can not send MIDI notes from MIDI track to the synth with plugin running. But at least now it is seen from DAW. In Ableton you need to turn off the MIDI channel inside DAW related to MINITAUR, so the DAW shouldn’t connect by itself to the synth (you have to reload Ableton for changes to take effect). That way the VSTi plugin can see and control Minitaur, but the problem is that in this case you can not send midi notes to it. And with MIDI channels turned on you can actually send notes and hear the results, but the plugin looses control. I am continuing the experiments how to setup it properly. It will be soooo great to be able save/load/control and actually send MIDI events from track inside the DAW!
I am having a problem with the vst in live not saving the pitch bend range and resets to 0 every time i open a project. anyone else having this?
The new Moog plugins show up only as FX plugins and not as instrument plugins anymore. Amos held a poll a while ago asking if there is still a demand for instrument plugin version. I guess the percentage voting for the instrument version was rather small then so they propably dropped it.
congratulations to the moog team on the release of the new editor.
did the sync lfo to midi ever get fixed from the betas? i tried and it looks like it still does not work in the final. does it work for other people?
cheers
The Win version of the upgrade files are apparently zipped on a Mac. This seems to cause problems for Win 7 x64 to extract. It fails to extract all the files properly although it does do some of them. However, it is possible to open the zipped file manually and then cut and paste the required contents individually.

I have checked and i can NOT see the plugin in the effects section as well
Having the exact same issue. Running OS 10.6.8 and encounter an error during install. Emailed Moog about the issue and hope to hear back soon.
Same issue here with cubase 5
Would love to know how to make it work too! this is such a welcome update and really good UI design.
Thank you! ![]()
I think it might be compatibility between 32/64 bits plugin and DAW. Check that both match.
There was talk while the editor was in beta that there was trouble connecting the vst to the midi via the midi driver on Windows. For a while there was an additional piece of software that had to be saved next to the vst files. The vibe i got at the time was more or less that it was Microsoft’s issue to address. I havent heard mention of it since but the behavior is the same. If this is all the case then it would appear that the software was released as-is. Again, conjecture here, but it might have made sense to release the working stand-alone editor with a soft keyboard than a vst that does not work.
For what it’s worth, on first glance everything seems to be working fine for me on my Mac with Ableton Live 9. I use it as the AU version right after an ‘External Instrument’ to drive the Minitaur.
Still getting an error of device not connected, BUT…able to preview presets from editor and load them using hardware shortcuts. Really unnerving…a fix coming?
where can i find the v3.0 editor??
it’s not in the support/downloads section of the site even though the 2.1 firmware is there. Never got an email about it either. I also never got an email back from support whom which I contacted a few days ago.

I’ve installed V2.1 and upon installing the editor, my mac says “an unknown error occurred”.
I am on OS 10.6.8.
Suggstions?
EDIT posted before I read the whole thread (doh!), I’ve installed it, here goes…
EXP legato glide is not working correctly in V2.1. It does indeed glide when notes are played legato but glides from note that used the glide last time and not from the last note played. So if you only play legato on every fourth note for example, you’ll hear the glide starting from the note played four strikes ago and not from the last note played. Interesting effect but not quite what was intended.

I have the same problem as kimik. Cannot find the editor and the support is not answering my emails
How did you guys get the editor? Is there a link you can post here?
Thanks!
Right, first impressions.
It works, everything is fine, I don’t even have to have the USB cable plugged in, as I had run out of tape to cover the pin that made that God awful USB noise.
Things that need sorting out still, saving the logic song it self, messes up settings. You can save the whole channel strip, but on recall the settings are not the same, they are in the same ball part, but velocity>VCF, LFO settings and don’t remember what else, are not what they where. Same goes for saving a patch on the editor memory as well and same goes if you decide you want to change insert slots in the channel and grab/drag the MT plug in.
I shall be using this lots, mainly because the “extended” view is made of win.
I had problems installing the editor it self, but another user posted this link http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1512 to upgrade the Apple installer, cheers for that!
I am on OS 10.6.8, using Logic Pro 9 and I’ve been using the Minitaur via the AU plug in, in a track I am making for the last hour, nothing has crashed, no hanging notes.
Nice!
Thank you very much for the new version of the editor.
Untill know I got runtime errors when trying to start the old version of the editor, but with this new version, I have no problems !
( Windows 8, 64 bit )
Best regards !

It’s great that firmware 2.1 supports “custom tuning scales,” as this is something that myself and a few others asked for.
I’ve just updated and installed the new editor, and I can’t find any way to access this. There’s nothing in the manual about it at all.
Any hints?
