Minitaur USB when in "stand alone" mode

So i got a minitaur somehow. love it so far!

i want to use it a LOT in USB stand alone mode-- without a midi cable going in.
to me-- and likely others— it would be great to fire up the editor and let the editor take care of doing the midi thru like some editors do. maybe im doing something wrong?

for example:

midi controller keyboard out–> into computer–> minitaur editor–> out via USB to minitaur.
in this way, only a usb cable is needed. is this possible? i tried selecting my midi controller (a virus TI) in the editor but it wouldnt receive and re-transmit the midi.

in my sequencer, it shows up as a midi device, and Sonar always THRU’s it to it, so theres no problem here.

let me know what you think, and if im doing something wrong.

I too was having the same issue. This could just be a bug that will be worked out for the official release. Currently, the only way I am able to get MIDI I/O with the Minitaur and the Editor (for editing parameters at the Minitaur and changing in real time at the Editor) and use my USB MIDI keyboard is to have the Editor set to MIDI I/O via USB and connect a MIDI cable from the Minitaur DIN IN to DIN OUT on my interface and connecting the Keyboard input to the Interface DIN OUT via MIDI OX.

I think what the design intent was to use the USB MIDI as a way for the Editor to communicate with the Minitaur both ways so it would be possible to create a preset at the editor and change the Minitaur paremeters and to create a preset at the Minitaur and change at the Editor. Not to connect a MIDI Controller. Thus the need for a dedicated DIN MIDI IN. But, thats just a uneducated guess.
