This is my first stab at going outside the box and getting some hardware. I’m trying to use the Minitaur with Live via the External instrument plugin. Thing is I have to seriously krank up the gain on the external instrument plugin (Minitaur vol knob in on full). Then I get a lot of noise too. I am connected into a Fireface via an 1/4" unbalanced mono…is this my problem (before I buy a new cable)…do I need to go with something like a balanced trs (which the fireface accepts)…it’s just that the signal does not seem so hot.

make sure the Minitaur hardware volume knob is at maximum, and you could send MIDI CC 7 (master volume) maximum value as well for good measure… lastly. make sure there’s not too much velocity sensitivity (and too low a velocity) on your sound…
