Minitaur Editor

Hi, I notice strangeness with the Minitaur Editor. I’m on Win7 Enterprise SP1.

When I launch the editor, first time it opens fine. Successive attempts, the window appears with no graphics rendered, then the program abruptly ends.
If I ‘re-expand’ the same Zip file to the same location, it opens. It is as if there is something written to the installation directory on first opening, however, I cannot detect anything written there. I would have thought it was a hardware issue on my part, some USB lockup or driver not being free’ed up, but this workaround reliably allows me to open the editor…
It doesn’t appear to matter if I start the application as Administrator or not. My user account does have Admin rights…

I’m fully up to date with respect to firmware and the Editor, and I do not use an external USB Hub, altho the USB connectors at back of my modern Dell PC may employ virtual USB ‘hubs’ (which would be standard on any normal PC).

I’m a programmer by day, so I’ve written a little batch script that uses 7z to expand the zip (Minitaur_Editor_WIN_0.zip), cd’s to the expanded dir, and launches the exe. A shortcut to this batch script has replaced the Task Tray item. Not very pretty! But it works…

Here’s the Windows Diagnostics of the occurrence:

[Window Title]
Minitaur Editor.exe

[Main Instruction]
Minitaur Editor.exe has stopped working

[Content]
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

[Close program]

Is there some kind of mode whereby I can start the exe to get diagnostics from the application itself - maybe I could figure out the problem myself, or else, it’ll help you to do your job…
Anyone else experiencing this issue?

Great synth btw! Loving it.

Thank you, Eanna
