Minimoog OS and MCV4 CV/GATE Midi ! solved problem

Hello everybody,

I have a problem and I do not find a solution on Internet !!!

I connected my Minimoog Oldschool with a Doepfer MCV4 towards Atari ST Computer (or Apple towards M-Audio Midi…).

I wish that my Midi connection play the notes on Minimmog without I not posing the fingers on the keyboard.

The liasion Midi is carried out (red diode ok).

But I am obliged to leave a finger on the keyboard to hear the played sequence.

It can be transposed if I change note. But it is not what I wish. I want just to intervene on Minimoog to change the parameter of the sound (LFO, Filters…). I want just that my keyboard behaves like a expander.

Can you help me to solve this problem.

I have Mono cables, not stereo… (problem ???).

Here my branch:

MCV4 Gate → Minimoog KB Gate.
MCV4 CV1/2 → Minimoog Pitch.
MCV4 Midi In ↔ Atari Midi Out.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Did you change the envelope gate to ON/EXTERNAL?

I have connected a main keyboard on Minimoog and I can play via this one. But while putting on “ext.”, the sound is infinite… with sustain…

how thus, to play note by note without this???

If you are using midi, then you need to send a midi signal to close the envelopes, essentially, you are simulating the action of pressing the key, you have to thus simulate the action of releasing it. Try to connect it to the blue envelope gate jack on the back of your Voyager and see if that works.

I hope this answers our question.

2 cables from your midi/cv convertor. One is PITCH CV and the other is GATE CV. The PITCH CV controls the freq of the osc. The GATE CV controls the VCA. You plug it into the ENV GATE IN jack on the VOS and set the switch to External/ON.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH !!! You are the best !
