Minimoog Noise for the Sub Phatty

heres a little project i started a while ago but never built because i ran out of time, and also because across here in australia we only have jaycar and they dont stock all the cap values needed to complete easily. though to be fair it should still work with close values.

the tranny should be able to be subbed out for the 2n3904 or similar.

if anyone’s keen, do a trace to check the layout and build with parts from mouser. let me know how it turns out.

it’s interesting on the schem, it lists white and pink, but also red (brown) noise. the sub has brown, and if the noise circuit is ripped from the mini, the sub could be moddable to do pink or white too. just need that schem :wink:

EDIT: you will need two 9v batteries to do the + -10v supply.

The minimoog noise is the best I have ever heard, especially for oscillator modulation in small amounts. I rarely play any patch on the model D without red noise (or whatever the pink noise setting is on mod) modulating pitch just a little bit. It smooths out the harsh sound of the raw oscillators, and just makes it sound more warm and analog. So with that same pink noise source on the already amazing sounding sub, I can imagine how cool that sounds, great idea.

I really like the stock noise on the sub as a sound source, but haven’t heard it as a mod source.
