Has anyone ever tried to do a fade-in effect on a MiniMoog?
What this means is to play a desired note that you like at low volume, and then gradually increase its loudness.
This procedure is similar to how the ending melody of Linda Ronstadt’s 1974 hit “You’re No Good” was done (which sounds a bit like “Papa was a Rollin’ Stone”), although in that case the first 30 seconds of the violin sound, with a frequency of 932 Hz, was played back on the mixing console at low volume, and its master control was gradually raised to increase its loudness.

Isn’t the attack knob doing exactly that ?
I do this all the time with a foot pedal.

I’ve yet to find any videos on YouTube about how to increase the loudness of any given note on a MiniMoog or equivalent synthesizer.

You are asking about how to fade a note in from either zero or a low value. This is where the volume pedal comes in. Before playing the note, reduce the volume pedal to an appropriate setting. Then play the note and gradually step the pedal up to the desired volume.
Or am I missing something in your original question?

I also don’t quite get what is so difficult about this ? You’ve got 3 choices of method; use the attack knob of the “loudness contour” to set the time for an “automatic fade-in”, or turn the “main output” volume knob slowly by hand from zero, or use a volume pedal like Vsyevolod is suggesting…
And that’s without getting creative… like sitting on your mixer and moving the faders with your ass-cheeks.

My view: to wear headphones, play the 932 Hz B-flat chord, and hit the “VaVoom” (volume generator) stomp box to increase the loudness.
