I have a 74’ minimoog, and it has a common cosmetic problem. The faceplate seems to have bubbled up in a few spots. It’s not that big of a deal…but has grown to irritate me over the years. Anyone know of replacement faceplates anywhere for sale? Or better yet, a quick fix?
Try this .. http://www.sintetizadores.com.ar/ventas.php
As far as repairing it..a well known synth tech who frequents this forum has a method to get rid of those nasty bubbles..not sure if it’s a trade secret or not, but I remember years ago he described the process, being I don’t remember the specific details, I’d rather not guess and have you screw it up further, I do recall it did involve the use of some type of solvent.
Good Luck [/url]
If I’m that well known tech, I’d recommend the same thing you just did-
A replacement from Sintetizadores.com
I just replaced the panel on a beat up Mini with one of these new dupes.
Check out how nice they look (excluding my fingerprints at top) ![]()
Yes, you would be that tech…
I remember many years ago you described a process for removing the bubbles from the minimoogs panel, as mine has a metal panel I didn’t pay close attention to the procedure.
Those repro panels look nice, but I believe the guy only has a limited qaunity of them still left.
Which is not a math problem, because the number of Minimoogs is also limited ![]()
25 left… thousands of minimoogs were made by moog.. the guy made a small batch of panels, the math tells me they will be gone long before all the minimoogs ![]()
Hi!

Wow, thank you everyone. I think I am sold on a new panel, I will be contacting “the panel guy” very shortly to ensure my panel gets replaced.
