Minimoog D on TV

Who spotted the Minimoog D on the new Apple ipad Air ad on TV?

I did!

What’s a TV?

Ain’t that the truth… haven’t watched broadcast TV since 2000. Waste of $$$.

I abandoned tv on 2000 too! Its a waste of your brains, mostly

I did in 2005, going away from my parents’ place

I gave up on TV when I was in 11th grade (precocious I was…). Lemme see, that was back in 1975. Haven’t much missed anything have I?

I see TV at work. Have Netflix on the Wii, use it for Bones, vintage Twilight Zone, MST3k, Dragnet, and Discovery Channel stuff. Quality shows are out there, one just needs to find them.

Indeed. One of the main reasons I quit is I don’t trusted myself. I just sat and watch whatever was the “least bad” show…
I prefer internet because I (think I) choose.

What is the commercial? It should be online.

BTW, TV in some cases has risen to and surpassed film quite a few times. Deadwood (the best by far), the wire, sopranos, boardwalk empire, homeland, house of cards, it’s a wonder I still have time for music.

I’ve stopped watching TV when I could get all the shows I like off the internet. That was about 3 years ago.

Now I watch my favorite shows on my 46 inch LCD TV from my Xbox 360, streaming from my Mac on Wi-Fi, downloaded from the Web (often YouTube lately).

I stopped watching TV mainly because I couldn’t stand the constant bombardment from commercials anymore.

I’ve never felt better…

I’ve even rediscovered some shows from the past that are really awesome. The Sopranos and The Untouchables (original series) comes to mind.

Here it is: (appears at 0:15)

That had two badges.

Here’s My favorite D on TV:

…two badges and the one on the left seems to be held in place with rivets. Also the pitch bend is all the way down, and none of the knobs and switches of the panel are showing. Nor does the name Moog on those badges…

I’ve always found it funny to see people pretending to play a monophonic synth with two hands playing chords… :unamused:

looks like one of those remote mini keyboards without the guts. I tried getting the same angle on mine, and it doesn’t work, you see the knobs.

Also, everyone should watch Deadwood all the way through, an enlightening experience. The dialogue is the most poetic and obscene I have ever heard. It is probably the only show ever made which every episode written by basically one person (at least the dialogue), David Milch, a depressed genius.

Also, as long as we’re on this topic, this is from a crazy psychedelic film called “performance” with mick jagger playing his moog modular and some lights:

I think they sold that modular almost immediately after that film and it went to Tangerine Dream.
