Minimoog D help!

I want to by a minimoog and I currently have one on hand, but I don’t know if it is this one I should by. I have only seen it on pictures so I have not been able to try it, but it’s definitly not mint. Can anyone help me to look at the pictures to decide if I should by it or not? Please respond with an emailadress and I will mail you the pictures. It would be a great help for an unexperienced minimoogbuyer… Thanks

I doubt that anyone can determine the quality from a synth just by looking at a picture.

I wonder if you would be angry at that person if he would say it looks decent enough to buy and it is a faulty one ?

I guess someone with experience can tell me something just from the pictures. Here are the pictures:

As you can see the frontpanel is in bad condition. I think maybe it has the old oscillators because of the 7 holes on the right behind the panel. I think also it does not have the original minimoog badge on the front. Anything else someone can see from the pictures? Thanks

The keyboard is not set into the case correctly. The front edge of the keys should line up with the front end of the modulation wheel box.

You are correct that the badge is not original. Also, it’s too bad they screwed it into the wood. Normally they were glued on.

Do you know if it works properly? Can the seller send you audio or video files? How much are they asking for it?

Good luck.

Also, this is a fairly early serial number, so it has the older oscillators and smooth white pitch and mod wheels. It also has the buffer board installed as indicated by the two black screws above the serial number.

The wooden case looks like it was stripped and refinished quickly with a paintbrush.

Thanks for responding! Is it difficult to replace some parts in the keyboard (springs?) to make it work properly? I have not received audio/video files but will ask for that. The price is $3000 so quite expencive, but I guess that is what you have to pay?
