Ok so I have the Minibrute pre-ordered and if I can find the extra money in my budget, I want to get the Minitaur as well. These synths seem like they compliment each other very well, but I don’t know a ton about CV, so I have a couple of questions:
The Minibrute has Pitch, Gate, Filter, Amp CV In/Out. The Minitaur has Pitch, Filter, Volume, Gate CV Ins. So does this mean that I could plug the Pitch, Filter and Gate between the 2 and if they both hooked up to an amp hear both at once, with teh Moog playing the notes I played on the Minibrute? What about Amp and Volume. Different names for the same thing?
If I was running the Minitaur via MIDI, would I only hear the Minitaur’s sounds? Or if I ran audio out from both synths to the amp would I hear both?
Freely admit to being a newb to synths and MIDI, so please go easy on me if it looks like I’m asking something really basic. The Minitaur is definitely high on my list, but I needed the keyboard attached too, so it’s next on my list
Yes. Not only that, but if ALL the ins of the Taurus go to all the outs of the Minibrute, the Minibrute will control Filter and Volume on the Taurus as well.

Probably.

Yes and yes.

Cool! Everyone has to start somewhere. Welcome to the world of analog synthesis!
Glad to hear I had things right w/all those concepts. I do own a couple of older analog synths (they’re both Rolands, the Juno 106 and a JX-8P+PG800 programmer) but I never have really had the spare room to set them up and use them much. When I did, I just plugged them straight into an amp and messed around some. Never have dealt w/MIDI or CV before. I enjoy my old synths when I have gotten to use them, but I haven’t sat down and really puzzled everything out. I’m planning a new desk setup tho, so I may be able to setup one of those old synths as well as the Minibrute. I’m going to try and add the Minitaur as soon as I can tho, b/c that just seems pretty great to me
You’re welcome! FWIW, I don’t mess with MIDI much. I do a lot of stuff with CV, though. CV is highly addictive once you get started. Soon you’ll be wanting a modular.
