Hope the answer to this one is easy! I have my Phatty succesfully plugged and it records audio and midi (I use Ableton as my DAW). Now I have a problem - how can I make Phatty play the midi notes from my DAW and record it into audio? (once i recorded it in midi i want it to play it back and record in audio after adjusting midi notes etc.)
I don’t use Ableton, but I guess it works the same way as in Cubase.
You have two tracks; One midi-track with the midi data, and one audio track to record the sound on.
You send the midi data from the midi track to your Phatty.
The Phatty plays, and you record the sound on the audio track.
How to send the midi data on the midi track to the Phatty?
I know how to do it in Cubase - you just assign the midi track output to the midi output connected to your Phatty. Remember to make sure you send (from Ableton) and recieve (in your Phatty) on the same midi channel.
If you are able to play back the midi and can hear it out your LP to your speakers, then you simply set up an Audio channel and arm it for recording as normal with the Audio-in input set on whatever channel Live normally records your audio from. I do this in Logic and i think I’ve done it the same way in Live.
