Midi Murf syncing start/stop with a drum mchn

Hello - I’m familiar with midi but never got real deep into midi programming, just clock syncing…
I’m having trouble syncing my Boss DR5 drum machine with the Murf. I can get the Murf to sync to the DR5’s tempo but cannot get the Murf’s patterns to “start/stop” with the DR5.
I’m sure it’s a simple fix… just can’t find it! Any advice will be appreciated!

Could be:

  1. You might be filtering MMC but allowing Midi Clock to go through. Not sure if you are running through an interface, through DAW or direrctly wired from drum machine to Murf but you’ll need both MMC and Midi clock.

  2. You may have older firmware. I believe that they changed the behavior of how this operates about a year after release. Have a look at downloads under product pages. Unfortunately, there is no way that I know of to check to see what firmware you have installed, though the VST plug-in might tell you?

  3. Midi cc setting that drives this behavior in one of a few modes needs to be set appropriately. Check the 1.8 addendum for the various modes.
