MIDI MuRF pattern editor query

I don’t understand what happens when I select FUNCTION → Factory Presets in the pattern editor, and then select a factory preset.

For example, suppose the PATTERN knob is set to 2 and the FREQ switch is set to MIDS. Then I believe that the MF-105M should be using pattern number 14. So if I select FUNCTION → Factory Presets → Pat. 14, I would expect it to restore pattern 14 to its original state and start playing that pattern immediately (because I have Auto Send enabled).

That’s not what happens. Instead, it seems to open all the filters all the way and leave them there until I turn the PATTERN knob to some other pattern and then back to 2.

What am I missing?

I answered my own question.

What I’m missing is that when you write a pattern to the MuRF, it also writes the setting of the knob(s). So if the pattern selector knob in the editor is set to 1, sending a pattern to the MuRF also sets the pattern selector to 1. Moving the MuRF’s knob causes it to take over again.
