MIDI MuRF MIDI SYNC PROBLEM

Hello Moogorains!!! I am having a midi time clock sync problem… My MM gets a start and stop message but the clock i think is being mastered by the internal rate… I even get a yellow LED flash but not in sync with the midi clock… I did try using the cc # 89 to turn off/on but still no luck… I had luck with using my tr-808’s trigger out to tap/step but no midi clock… Am i missing something or You think it’s the unit???

Cheers,
Chando

CHEERS Em… I was in the understanding that the MM would take the midi clock as the master… just a hair south of 8 works for 1/16… Thanks…

I looked at the manual as well. However, at least for me I don’t think I’m getting my Murf to sync with Ableton Live. Do you have any insight? I’ve posted a video of my problem at

Thanks!

Kevin, your midi MuRF looks to be doing the right thing to me. Keep in mind when in MIDI sync mode, the RATE knob acts as a clock divider, meaning you will get a different number of MIDI clocks per beat depending on where the Rate knob is set. To my ears it sounded like your MuRF was following the clock just fine, but in an odd meter. Just a hair below 3 o’clock on the Rate knob gives 16th notes; that’s a good place to start. Adjust the Rate knob while the clock is running in order to get the number of clocks per beat that you want, and then if needed you can stop/start your sequencer in order to get everything synced on the downbeat.

Let me know if this works. Also remember that you can just write Midi note patterns in Live and play the MuRF in this way. I think the octave starting on C2 gives enveloped notes, and the octave starting on C4 gives organ-like (no attack or release) notes with velocity sensitivity. When in doubt refer to the manual.
