I use linux for as much of my computing as possible, and I’m getting tired of rebooting into windows to edit the patterns on my midi murf. I have tried running the editor using a windows emulator, but that doesn’t work. Linux has many good programs for audio production and even versions of the os which have been optimized for audio production, and come loaded with all the software one needs for high quality recording and editing, best of all it’s faster and more secure than widows, and it’s all free. Alas support from hardware manufactures is rare, which makes setting up a studio with anything other than a few supported pieces of hardware frustrating and tedious. I realize that there aren’t many users of both linux and the murf, but that is likely only due to poor support by hardware manufactures. It would be greatly appreciated if moog either releases a linux editor or a vst, which can be run in linux. If the system exclusive method for programming the patterns is fairly simple even just proving the information would be helpful, for even though I’m not a programmer, I’d try to get something working using existing linux software and if needed help from the linux community.
