Midi Logic + Voyager trouble - PLEASE HELP :)

Hi there!

today i have received my minimoog voyager and i have a little issue with the midi, maybe you can help me

The problem is that when i touch some parameters on my voyager it controls logic too through the midi, and i don’t know how to avoid this problem.

For example when i press LFO Rate it SOLO the channel, moving Oscillator Freq. 2 it PAN, master volume will move my channel volume in logic, and etc, etc

Any tip of how to fix this?

THANKS!

It’s in the manual. you need to look up turning off Midi Out. You want to have it receive midi only not transmit

Hey astricii , thanks but i guess that is not the solution , as i want to send midi when i play to be recorded

Thanks for the reminder about the online manual.

The print manual that came with my Voyager is way out of date - it was printed before all those Voyager operating system updates, hardware updates, etc.

I’ll be consulting the online one a lot more now:

What Carl’s looking for (filtering MIDI CCs) hasn’t been implemented in the Voyager’s firmware yet, but there’s a setting in Logic you can check off to filter out ALL CCs, and a more complicated solution for specifying single CCs ~ it’s in my post in this thread http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=14145
(which I reposted above without ‘splainin’)

Hey Misterpete,

yeah you were right i just turn cc’s off in logic and no problems anymore , it was easy, so thanks a lot. When i need to use them again i will just activate and it is not so much trouble. thanks for your help.

Cheers, Carl.

COOL! :sunglasses:

I put in a feature request ~ actually many of us have ~ asking for a Voyager firmware update to address this issue the way the Slim Phatty does, giving us the option to filter out CC messages directly from the instrument LEDs panel. A big bonus of keeping it in the hardware is that you can then use your Voyager modulation knobs without changing any parameters on slaved MIDI instruments ~ particularly our other Moogs which react to the same controls. :exclamation:

My bad, I got the impression you were sequencing the voyager from logic and knob tweaking while it played

No problem, help is always appreciated

And now all is fixed, so i’m happy playing with my Minimoog
