Any recommendations for a MIDI->CV converter? The idea would be to be able to use a laptop to control, say a Moogerfooger…
Kenton midi interfaces are working fine here and at friends rig.
And the rare german EES CV7 is also worth to check out. It does feature seven Midi to CV channels in a single height rack unit. And very good scaling settings. It does also feature a good LFO per channel and does also accepts velocity to change voltages.
Perhaps the Moog MP-201 when the software update is released?
I use a Doepfer MCV-24 and I love it! It has 24 outputs that can each be setup differently. They can be CV (HZ or Volt per Oct), Gate (positive or Negative), LFO and even Envelope. The only drawback is that you need to soldier in a new battery every 2-5 years. It has nice to set it up, save it as a preset and have it exactly the way I want it when I turn it on.
I am using a Doepfer A-190-2. Works fine with an Old School and would for moogerfoogers too, but this is surely not what you’re looking for.
I would think (before putting my hands on it since it’s not available yet) an MP-201 with the midi-to-CV upcoming firmware would be the best solution, especially for moogerfoogers. Says MOOG on the nameplate.
Kenton just released a USB Midi-CV Converter, sounds like a perfect match for your PC and foogers. ![]()
