so i just had that bizzare 3/16" jack on my micro changed to 1/4" and it has opened so many more possiblities now…i mean serriously 3/16"!!.. for those who dont know, the micromoog has a 3/16 jack on the back that routed the modulation section, including modwheel, out to another cv device and then cancels the internal modulation. Fun times, makes me want a cp251 even more now hehehe. Auto S&h to MF103 Sweep In produces some very interesting results ![]()
Cool! Who did the work? You totally need a CP-251 now. ![]()
my friend/tech/fx builder, he’s awesome. he just recently started working at deltronics on halsted
Hey, they finally got someone decent working there! Nice! I’ll have to stop by sometime with my Farfisa. Get those blasted contacts replaced with ones that don’t tarnish. ![]()
Hey, they finally got someone decent working there!
You evaluate the competence of a tech by hear-say about the replacement of a jack?

Fair enough, Kevin. However, this guy ColorForm talks about has built his own effects, and has some knowledge of custom jobs…more than what could be said of the guy who charged $300 to change out some tubes in an old Revere tape recorder of mine.
I am certain that he can also do a better job than the tech my buddy had when he went to get lights put into his Prodigy’s wheel assembly. They totally botched the wheels, like they were cut using a band saw, and the lights fed right into the pitch CV, and rendered the thing unplayable!
That was half a grand and three days without his Prodigy down the tubes.
I had been declining to single out that particular instance out of respect for an otherwise decent repair shop. I have mentioned that they do awesome repair work, but not so much with the custom stuff. I was the one who fixed the lights on the Prodigy, BTW. They WERE mounted better than the ones in my LP’s wheel housing, though that’s not saying much.

CF now isn’t that a 2 way jack?
I asked Kevin about this and he directed me to a piece I really forget I think he said that the plug was 1/16th and redirected meto thhe right plug that I could have wired up my own.
Also one of my favorite things about the Micro that I wish that the Voyager did was the auto function because it just totally lets you leave the room with a drum machine running and come back and they are still playing eachother.
Eric
Erick, correct it is a two way jack. What do you mean kevin directed you to a piece?
Yeah the auto s&h is fantastic! It works great to turn the micro into a simple (bass, snare, bass, snare…) drum machine if you set the envelopes right.
I asked Kevin awhile back about what size that plug was and where I could find a plug to go into it.
He showed me to a plug that he said would fit, from mouser but it would require soldering it to a cable.
I can’t find the email with the information on the exact plug, but in your case its no longer important.
I still want to make that cable, and I think that I could now. I think the plug was about 15 bucks from mouser.com
Eric
I have the manual in front of me and it is a 3/16 stereo jack. Not looking to start something with you or kevin, just don’t want you to get the wrong size.
Ill have to let Kevin himself chime in on this one.
See, I have the manual as well and I read that its that exact size jack. But he said that if you have a 316th size hole a 3 16th sized jack won’t fit in that hole. So he showed me to a part that is supposed to fit that exact hole.
This question is the reason why i never bought the part. Not that im saying that he is wrong, but you know how doctors are when you ask them “are you sure”. ![]()

Hmm,that’s very strange. But so is making a synth .95v/oct when most are 1v/oct. eh either way im glad that mine is easily accessible and functional.
