micromoog cp-251

I was wondering what the popular opinion is on hooking up a cp-251 with a micromoog, I read one forum that says that the osc, and trigger inputs on back act like cv/gate inputs on the micromoog is this correct or does the micro need to be altered to use the cp-251. From what I can tell the cp-251 is a hub for linking synths but I just want to use the cp-251’s lfo’s with the micro, is this possible?

It’s possible. Voltage compatibility can be had with the attenuators. Do you have your MicroMoog manual? What synths are you trying to use?
You will notice in the manual that the keyboard jack is botn an input and an output. Consult your manual for that information. If you don’t know where to find a Micro Manual. lemme know.

I use mine to get the 107 and 102 to track the Micro as Extra Oscs. It takes about 10 cables.

Also, synthesizers.com sells a cable where you can convert voltages to s-trigs.

You can probably get the diagram from the Moog Manual to wire up the reverse of this plug also with female adaptors for better inter connectivity, just be mindful of your voltages at all times so you don’t fry anything.

I need to get that Mod output jack also.

Thanks for the reply. I believe it is helpful but I might want to be doing something different. I haven’t bought a micro yet, I have been searching for synths seriously the last few months and have been mystified by moog or synth like affects in reggae from the 70’s and early 80’s for 28 years i have sold a few synths of lesser quality in the past out of frustration from them not sounding right but I have yet to get a moog which now I’m sure is the right choice. I watched a youtube where a guy had a little phatty a 107 and a cp-251, I saw it as the hub, the 107 was cool but when he tweeked the lfo’s on the cp-251 I finally heard the sounds that I have been looking for for years, I don’t really need to run multiple synths and I’m not to excited about the interface on the little phatty, I prefer more knobs and sliders to digital buttons. I was just wondering if a micromoog could work with the Cp-251 by themselves. I have heard a minimoog do what I’m looking for but I can’t afford it. I would like to get a Prodigy but I believe some dont have cv/gate and I don’t believe the prodigy has audio in to process external audio like drums or other. I’m more interested in spacey effects then shattering synth bass which I do like. I just don’t want to buy anything until I’m educated enouph to know that what I am buying is what I’m looking for. Any advice for this wordy freak?

I’m not familiar with the sounds you are going for, but I can say that I recently used the LFO of the MF-103 phaser into the filter input on the Micromoog and it worked fine to sweep the filter frequency of the Micro. Can you give any examples of songs with the sound you are trying to get?

Cp-251 and micro moog are great together. Although the osc input on mine is acting funny. When I patch the lfo out from the cp, no matter what the rate is set at it modulates at audio rate, lfo outs from other foogers work fine though ???

other than that it adds a lot more flexibility and modulation to an already awesome synth

Just a note that converting a V-trig (a positive gate) can easily be converted to an S-trig.
Such a circuit powers itself from the gate voltage itself.

However going in the opposite direction (S-trig to V-trig) will require some sort of power source.
In this case, one is generating a voltage (a gate) and the power for this must come from somewhere.
These cables are not bi-directional.
