My MG-1 is all working great and I love it except for one thing, when its switched over to the ‘contoured’ setting it basically has the same effect as the ‘continuous’ setting and therefore I can not control any attack or decay whatsoever. So has anyone out there had the same problem? (like the MG-1 really needs any more problems other than ‘oh god internal black crusty-yet-gooey all over my fingers attack…’).
I have sussed out the board diagrams and am looking to replace the motorola MC14007UBCP chip but this is a fairly blind guess and any help or ideas would be great.
I had the same problem with my micro when I bought it. It was pretty much constant tone being generated (I think when the release switch was set to short it worked normal) but it turned out to be problem with the switch and I think the vca balance was off. I didn’t fix it myself so I can’t give any detailed help but hopefully it can point you in the right direction
Yeah I considered that it may be the switch and will try it before I go replacing IC’s but I thought I’d throw it out there and see if anyone had a good idea why.
