MF104M Delay and Lehle Parallel - Pseudo Stereo

A Lehle Parallel L just popped up locally for a really low price, so I snatched it up to try my hand at faking stereo with my Moogerfooger Delay. I’m not a huge fan of 100% wet/dry rigs and don’t see too much of a point in stereo if both signals are the same. I really like what happens when one amp is around 35% wet and the other is around 65% wet. I was able to accomplish this with the Lehle. It basically works like giving you another level and mix knob for the Moog’s wet/delay output. Here’s how I hooked it up.

Guitar > Lehle Input
Lehle Send > Delay Input
Moog Wet/Delay Out > Lehle Return
Lehle Output > Amp A
Moog Mix Out > Amp B

I brought the Mix on the Moog and Lehle down a bit to give it a stereo spread. You can probably accomplish this with other mixers/blends, but for instrument level routing I think Lehle can’t be beat. Adjust the Return knob on the Lehle to adjust the output level.

Lehle gear is very well designed and well built; just pricey.

I bought two of their Little Lehle II switches and have the Parallel ‘L’ on my list. I’m going to use it to mix (back in) dry bass signal from a chain of bass stealing effects. Very similar to what you described.

Tell me, did you get a good deal on it retail or 2nd hand? I ask because they are never discounted and at least in the states, not very well stocked. Lowest I’ve seen it is $249.

I picked it up second hand. It seems to be pretty rare that they pop up used, unfortunately. There may be other affordable options. And the bypass isn’t very useful for this application since it cuts out the signal going to the second amp from the Lehle. There is a Parallel M on eBay for $150 new.

It does have a DI and will be very handy for bass. I use a lot of fuzz/distortion on bass in my studio, but always have to duplicate the signal since they all chop of low end.

Thanks for the reply. $149 is a killer price but I really do need the switch that the ‘L’ offers. My thinking is that I could replace my existing switch with this and simply switch in/out the overdrive/distortion/b:assmaster portion of my chain as I do now but always have the dry running in parallel.

(I do have to say that one thing that I like about the b:assister is the BASS volume control which is parallel to the ASS volume control.

While I’d love to have one of everything that Lehle sells (especially that new monster bass rig), space and money get in the way as always!
