Is it normal that the noise is very high when I plug the MF101 out in my Guit AMP???
I also run a guitar through the 101. When you turn it off via the footswitch, you still get the gain. But it shouldn’t be all that noisy. I’m not in front of it now but I don’t remember any unwanted noise.
Is the noise constant? You may want to contact Moog with the problem.
PLug directly your guitare in your amp and make the difference.. you will hear that MF101 is more noisy… but I think this is due to the level OUTPUT of the MF101… it is a line output level and not a Guitare HIgh impedance output level !!!
When I plug the MF101 in the SEND RETURN Aux of my console, there is no problem.. and no noise floor

hello there,
i just got my low pass filter today and i use it on my vintage fender bass guitar. now, my question is this…
is it normal that the low pass filter makes a hiss sound although my ring mod. is silent like death itself?
(i use a very good vintage amp. so great sound but no send/return option at all). is the low pass filter defective and i should replace it for another one or should i just accept it and go on making music with a slight hiss…???
simon.
Your response is pretty much where I am at with the 101. I could put up with noise, but I doubt whether band members will be as foregiving. Hopefully its ground may have to just be well connected. I have heard replies such as ‘the noise comes with the teritory’ to ‘there should be absolutely no problem with a noise factor’. So, it can be confusing on whether to deal with it or try and have a fix put in. Good luck! Incidently, I have noise on some settings with the phaser as well.
I have noise problems WHEN I HAVE THE DRIVE KNOB TURNED UP ALL THE WAY. Have you tried turning down the drive knob and turning up the volume somewhere else along the chain? No offense if that seems like an obvious solution or if you already tried it, it took me a while to figure that this was my problem.

Balancing various amps and drives are the first are considerqtions. I think even digital boxes can run into interference. I try different cables as well.
Maybe dealing with noise is just a matter of turning on the bypass between uses. Cumbersome but, maybe adequate.
