I just purchased a MF101 LPF new in the box off of ebay the other day and have had a problem with it right from the get go. After plugging everything in correctly and starting with the initial settings (as stated in the manual), all I get out of it is a VERY loud hum. I hardly even get a guitar signal coming through it. I mean this noise is so loud that the knobs on the unit do not even really seem to create any effect. I read the other threads on the board relating to issues with the MF101. I tried three different power supplies that were factory-supplied with my othe moogerfooger pedals and get the same problem. So I do not think it’s an issue with the power supply. I tried different cords and even unplugged my guitar from the signal chain. Everytime I have this loud hum. I am leaning towards that this pedal has a severe grounding issue. The noise gets especially loud if I touch the metal on the 1/4 plug that goes from my amp to the audio out jack on the back of the MF101. I own all of the other moogerfoogers and do not have this problem with any of them. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
did you contact the seller? was this auction a “as-is” auction? something might’ve just been smacked out of place in transit. I would suggest trying to get your money back asap via refund or filing with the shipping company, otherwise contact moog to get it fixed..
Actually I contacted the seller today and he has been very accomodating. He is having me ship the unit out and will replace with a new unit. So hopefully all will go well with the new one.
