So i just discovered that when i use the lowpass filter as an oscillator i can get it to track perfectly with my micromoog! just my using the micro’s keyboard attenuator. too bad its only a sine wave, but its still a second osc. WooHoo!
…now im going to have to get another lowpass eventually (i was planning on it any way) on as oscillator and one as filter
See! Its not redundant at all? How low will that pitch go?
GLad you finally got an Osc…I forgot what all gear you had.
oh it goes LOW
clip it into an input and you have a pulse ish waveform.
Good idea. Im going to experiment running it through different distortion boxes, other foogers, itself and octave pedals later today.
I need to get one. I was going to, but then I needed new glasses. ![]()

My glasses cost one Moog Financial Unit. Which happened to be the same one MFU that was going to go towards an MF-101.
That’s okay, though, because I’ll still get one…eventually. ![]()
WHat happened to the walmart brand 35 dollar frames?
The pair I had lasted about three weeks. My frames are made by Liz Claiborne and the lenses were crafted by hand at a boutique glasses shop in Wisconsin called Fluggie Optical. The frames were $159, which included a two year warranty on everything except the finish, and the lenses were $120. That right there is an MF-101. But I can see my regular 20/10 vision again, so I’m happy. ![]()

Since you own an MF-102, don’t forget that you can use its Drive circuit as a distortion device (Drive is always active - even when the RM is in Bypass mode).
The Drive circuit will ‘square up’ that sine wave in a hurry.
As you’ve discovered, the MF-101 is but one of three Moogerfoogers that can be used as an oscillator (the others are the Ring Mod and Freqbox). To see a complete breakdown of all of the 'Fooger functions as equivalent modular components, check out ‘The Moogerfooger Synthesizer’ on KnobTweak. Look in Files>Moogerfoogers>Moogerfooger Synth.

That’s a cool chart. You need to fill in the MP-201 a bit more. It can serve as a noise source, a S&H source, and (kind of) as a mulitplier (but only for the internal LFO signals).

Thanks greg, yeah I have been meaning to check out your knobtweak site. It sounds really cool. I’ve been aware that the 101 could be used as an oscillator from day one, this was the 1st time I hooked it up to my micro though. And the ring mod also makes a great osc but needs additional attenuation to track properly.
I ran the 101 oscillator through a octave pedal (its basically like a less featured freqbox) and a fuzz pedal. Wow! I was able to get some sick bass sounds. Ill have to make some demos eventually.

You’re right - that chart needs to be expanded a bit more for the MP-201!
I’ll make the changes and repost it. Thanks!

You could add Arpeggiator under the MuRF too.
It is a great chart!
The ‘Moogerfooger Synth’ chart has been updated and re-posted on KT.
