mf-108m High pitched background noise.

First I just want to say that the Mf-108m is an incredible instrument. I’ve been messing around with cc# 75 (delay time range multiplier). I’ve notice a loud high pitched background noise when using any of the multiplier ranges. I was wondering if this is normal and how are people using the multiplier feature with all this extra noise? I understand that this pedal probably was NOT designed to act as a delay pedal. It does sound really cool though , just don’t like the high pitched noise.
Comments?

If you read the manual it will tell you the delay time multipliers introduce clock noise. The BBDs are normally run in the MHz range, way above what you can hear. Slow the clock down and it starts to become audible.

I love what I can get out of the extended delay range. It goes super glitchy with all the modulation options. If I wanted perfect delay I’d use a digital unit

Hi deedussin,

I personally appreciate that Moog decided to let us have the
multiplier even though some of the results could be interpreted
as a fault. I hate when synth companies take the “safe” route
and limit parameter ranges so that only “pretty” sounds can be made.

As long as they can be turned off, I want every possibility that’s
reasonably practical to offer in an instrument.

This image is not exactly apropos as the multiplier is NOT a bug,

but it does show how you can take advantage of anything with
a simple readjustment of your view:-)
