Hello all,
My analog delay moogerfooger behaves erratically:
It sometimes goes in a “blackout” mode, where the wet signal level drops to near silence, and the wet signal goes dark (i know analog delay units have limitations at high frequencies but this is too much). It then behaves this way until i power off and on the unit several times.
Then it is resurrected and working normally (level - bandwidth).
Do you think this might have something to do with the Power Supply?
Unfortunately the problem isn’t easy to reproduce since it appears randomly, so i don’t know how to approach this.
any ideas?
Usually what is happening is one set of connector pins is shorting out on the chassis. Open the unit up (if you’re able, ymmv) and find the offending pins then isolate them with tape or hot melt/rubber cement.
Yeah. If you search the forum a bit you may find a thread about the pins shorting to the chassis. I used a business card and a bit of electrical tape to hold the card in place.
Remove the right-hand side cheek as you face the 104. You’ll see the pins in question located near the footswitch. Isolating those pins from the chassis seems to address the issue.
Sorry guys,
i should have checked in the forums before posting.
I see a lot of guys were having the same problem.
I removed the wooden side panels, and isolated the problematic pins using a thin plastic sheet, glued with tape on the backside of the front plate.
Problem fixed.
