Can any of you offer hands/ears on expierience of any sonic differences (and noise issues) between the original Big Briar mf-103 and the current moog model ?
I read an earlier post that said side by side the Briar unit had more top end clarity and shimmer. Whichever version I end up with will be used with humbucker and single coil pickups as well as my Little Phatty and many other sources. This will be a studio tool for me with little or no live use. Clarity is key for me as well as minimal noise. (I once bought a Murf new, but the noise/whine it produced was obtrusive to me for recording)
Anyway, mf-103… Big Briar or Moog version ? Thanks.
