Hello folks,
just goth my memorymoog plus in and im trying to get the sequencer to play my minimoog.
Following the mm+ manuel it freezes a one point.
Hit CC enter to get in to the sequencer
put him on mono in the sequencer section (mono light on)
put record on in the sequencer section (record light on)
then select a storage for your sequence (1…6)
then hit start in the sequencer section
and then the screan in the system controller schows “TEMPO 00”
Then i would need to set the tempo for the sequence so i take say “TEMPO 105”
Then when i hit enter the whole thing freezes and i cant do anything more the put the memorymoog off and put it on again a few seconds later.
Everything starts up as normal. But i still cant set sthe sequencer.
In the manuall http://www.interlogic.jpn.org/memorymoog/MP-2.pdf
on page 7 (2 of five in the second section)
it says “Enter tempo in M.M. markings from 60 to 240 on the system controller keypad”
Should i set the tempo in a different way then showed before cause i dont know what M.M. markings means so maybe thas why he freezes.
I dont know but i really want to get this up and running and i think im only making a little mistake instead of thinking theres somthing wrong with the sequencer program.
Any help would be verry appriciated.
Many many thanx in advance
Stefan
Thanx you guys for the verry fast replys!
@ Wesley, i cant get past the tempo prompt it freezes after hitting enter after the tempo input.
I can triggen the mini with the MM+ keyboard so thats working fine.
@ MC, cant load or put in notes in the sequencer 8(
Could it be possible that there is a backup battery for the memory of the sequencer only that would be empty.
Storing the soundpatches is no problem so i dont know if they have different backup battery’s.
Im no tech im just thinking logicly.
Again thanx for the fast reply’s
Hope to geth this running
Nice weekend folks
Just to be clear - you can’t do anything at all? What happens if you try putting in CC and try to get out of the sequencer? Or if you turn a knob does it show the hex values, even briefly?
I can’t believe that there’s no service manual for the sequencer. I mean, I know that the sequencer wasn’t 100% done, but you would think they would release some kind of form of a service manual for it.
Hitting enter after entering the tempo valeu freezes the whole lot, every led(that was on in the patch) exept the one form the lfo (keeps flikkering to the set tempo of the lfoknob) stays lighted on and i cant do anything after that, turn nobs, hittig cc enter, nothing changes ant the screan keeps saying “TEMPO 105”, no more sound, just all frozen up 8(
Only thing i can do is turn the power of and start up again.
I think theres no sequences stored as i cant load them ( i think) following the manuell.
If i dont enter the tempo i can get out of the sequencer yes, but if i do…
Thanx for your intrest and some kind of service manuell would be great.
Have you tried this exact series of keystrokes (for mono sequence 1)?
MONO
RECORD
1 <in the mod/seq section>
START
ENTER
ENTER
START
The clock should start and recording begins.
Note that no tempo or beats information is entered. I am wondering if you have a poly sequence recorded that wants to set the tempo of the corresponding mono sequence.
Hey Wesley,
thanx for your intrest in helping me out!
If i follow your lead
MONO
RECORD
1 <in the mod/seq section>
START
(at this point he asks for the tempo)
ENTER here he freezes
He always asks for the tempo input
I must be doing something wrong…
Many thanx
first it seems that you have a MMplus without the operation manual of the plus section. This is not that strange as they are rare. I will scan this part of my manual soon (the qualty is really poor as even I received a poor copy that time) and send it to you for free. So, all other MM-plus fans, if you also need one send me your e-mail address and I will send the scan to you as well. Also, and this may sound even more fine, I do have the original Factory Service Bulletin no 838A and 841B, describing technical issues of the PLUS hardware. This will be scanned due time as they used a terrible format. I will let you know when I will have this available.
Finally mr Analogmadnes, I remember this problem from the past with my MM-plus, and there is a hard reset possibility. I add this as an external knob previously, however it is not present any more as I the LAMM upgrade was done. I can recommend this to all MM users. Not cheap, but it is every cent worth as the MM receives not only a better mini-implementation, it is now a reliable instrument.
