Memory moog or a prophet 5

very different

Yes . . very different architecture . . it can be likened to a juno 60 (although better IMO) compared to a Jupiter 8.

Scaled down to 6 notes poly but unlike the Juno series or Polysix it had a velocity sensitive keyboard (Roland took thier time with this feature) and was able to transmit MIDI from each and every knob.

It came after the Chroma so actually had some better features . . like real sliders! and 132 patches compared to the Chromas 50.

It has a very unique sound . . very ARP like, clean top ends . . I have been trying to pick one up for the last year or so but they are hard to find . . it’s actually easier to buy a Chroma in the UK then a Polaris!

I’ve never tried the Memorymoog, but I’ve noticed extremely thick sounds sometimes don’t work too well in a mix. I like the Prophet-5 because it can sound quite organic, which is why I ended up buying one!
