I would love to see a setting in the envelope more pages for a mono firing envelope, that could be used on polyphonic patches. I really like the way the matriarch’s paraphonic voice modes affect the “handling” so to speak of the filter envelope.
Say we have the envelopes set longish, like 3+ seconds of Attack, decay, and release. On the matriarch, when playing in 2 or 4 voice mode, playing a second note after the envelope has already started brings the note in right away at the same cuttoff value (of course because its the same filter!). On the muse, each new note starts anew an envelope of the same attack.
Sometimes I want the matriarch’s behavior. as I think its very expressive for certain patches.
Is there some clever way to do this with the mod matrix? I have thought about taking the gate from timbre B set to mono mode in a stack and turned down, and using it to trigger the envelopes from timbre A, but is there a better way?
I think so.
In voice control more menu set dynamic voice allocation off, and the number of voices to the timbre to the polyphony you want.
In the VCF envelope more menu, turn on multitrig and make sure that ‘voice steal from’ is set to release.
I don’t have a matriarch, but this seems to do what you describe if I understand right.
steve_moog this is close to what I want but not quite. What I want is almost the effect of turning multitrig off in mono mode, but in a polyphonic way, I want all the voices envelopes to act as one. While the “voice steal from” set to release does make this work for stolen voices, I want it to affect all voices. I want the gate signal mono, but the rest poly.
Oh ok I get it. Yeah, probably not. The closest thing is going to be using the pitch lfo in envelope mode with the lfo type set to global, assigned to the filter parameters you want to drive, but that just give you an ‘AD’ envelope. Also obviously the voices all still play through their own filters so any tuning offsets between the voices will come into play.
That is a good idea, I will try some more creative solutions like that for now. Please consider adding a feature for this moog! Maybe all I need is a mod destination for envelope triggering. Then you would be able to use the envelopes with a bit more flexibility, like using aftertouch to fire an envelope.
