Matriarch oscillator goes out of tune

One oscillator on my new Matriarch often goes widely out of tune. The other 3 are fine.

I’ve owned many analog synths in the past and I expect some pitch drift, especially while warming up. After it has warmed up and I’ve tuned all the oscillators, three of them stay more or less in tune but the one oscillator will be randomly more than 25 cents sharp or flat. If I hold the note for a few seconds it will drift back under 10 cents. If I sync it to the next oscillator, it is always in tune but that is not an acceptable solution.

I am up to the current firmware (1.3.0). I carefully followed the instructions to calibrate the notes and pots. After note calibration, it is usually improved but after a while the one oscillator goes wild again.

I’ve set the global setting for pitch variance to zero. The other oscillators behave as expected when I try different settings.

Has anyone else experienced this? My feeling is that this is a hardware issue and not caused by firmware, patch or global settings.

Update: After 4 weeks of working with this new Matriarch, oscillator 3’s intonation started to fall place. After letting it warm up for at least a half hour each day, oscillators 1,2 and 4 are very stable. Oscillator 3 still sometimes goes flat by up to 10 cents on the low end and sharp by up to 5 cents as I get higher on the keyboard. Sometimes it is more like 15 to 20 cents flat at the lowest note. If it is, I run the note calibration and oscillator 3 goes back to being fairly in tune and never more than 5 cents out of tune anywhere on the keyboard. It’s still the wonkiest of the three oscillators for intonation but I can live with it.

I’ve run note calibration at least 15 times in the last six weeks and it always improves the intonation of osc. 3 when the intonation is off. Since it is only a minor inconvenience, I’ve decided to go ahead and keep the unit rather than return it for a replacement.

I wonder if the oscillators just needed a burn-in period to stabilize?
